LASIK, which stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis,
is a procedure that permanently changes the shape of the cornea,
the clear covering of the front of the eye. This procedure is
intended to treat all ranges of nearsightedness, farsightedness
and astigmatism. In this procedure, an excimer laser is used
to remove tissue from the surface of the cornea in a precise
and controlled manner and to alter the cornea's shape, correcting
the focus of the eye.
LASIK is the most popular laser assisted vision correction method
around the world. However, there are also other ways to correct
your vision via laser. In addition to LASIK, Kobe Clinic offers
PRK, and Epi-LASIK treatments. You may consult one of our physicians
to find the best vision correction solution for you. |
