| Q. Why and how did you decide to have LASIK? |
A.Six years [2001] ago in Washington DC I made all the preparations for LASIK but in the end I decided to delay the surgery until I felt more comfortable with the technology. My decision redirected several thousands of dollars that were originally intended for the LASIK surgery to prescription glasses.

| Q. Why did you decide to have LASIK done at Kobe Clinic |
A.Several months ago just before I underwent the surgery here at the Kobe clinic I did some research into reputable clinics in the Tokyo area. In my research I found that the Kobe clinic had an English-speaking representative, experience in a large number of successful operations and consultation and support from a renowned Los Angeles LASIK surgeon. I was very satisfied with my decision and proceeded to contact the clinic for a free initial consultation. Ever since my first day, my impression with the Kobe Clinic has always been that they are professional, gracious and hygienically clean.

| Q. Please
tell us the day of your operation. |
A. On the day of surgery I was a bit anxious but the staff there were professional and attentive in allaying my fears. I was in and out in of surgery with both eyes in about 30 minutes. Following a short rest period, the doctor quickly found and adjusted an imperfect recapping of my cornea.

| Q. Please tell us how LASIK improved your quality of life |
| A.From then onward my healing occurred as planned. I was fortunate not to have any dryness nor hazy or halo effects from lights at night. My pre-surgery vision was: L-0.15 (120/20), R-0.2 (100/20). I could drive without prescription glasses but chose not to for the sense of security. Four months post-surgery they were excellent at: L-2.0 (10/20), R-1.5 (12/20). Since surgery my farsighted capacity to see has been stable and my nearsighted capacity has only gotten better. I am pretty athletic and the effects of LASIK surgery for me has allowed me unencumbered access to swimming, tennis, golf, driving… the list goes on. Without relying on neither prescription glasses nor constantly using contact lenses, I am truly living in a new world of new opportunities. Thank you Kobe Clinic. |
