Instead of wearing glasses to see near-Newspapers, Cell-phone pads, Restaurant Menu….

“I wish I could see both near and far without wearing my reading glasses…” The clinical study has been continuously striven since 1990s to accommodate such wishes, and the Viewpoint CK system “NearVisionCK®” has developed by Refractec, Inc. of the United States. Today, more than 125,000* people has been treated and benefited by this new technology, the Viewpoint CK system“NearVisionCK®”

“NearVisionCK®” is an advanced, safe medical treatment approved by FDA-Food and Drug Administration in April, 2002.

It is impossible to stop the progress of Presbyopia (the Aging eye), however, you could turn your biological clock back about 10 years and seize your younger lifestyle without reading glasses. It would be our pleasure to offer you the Viewpoint CK system “NearVisionCK®” at KobeClinic.
*as of April 2007

About the age of 45, the accommodation of your eyes starts loosing its flexibility; you may be able to see far clearer and easier, but have difficulty seeing objects, small letters near you. These condition the eye’s diminished ability to focus that occurs with aging is called Presbyopia.

※Depends on the exam result, laser vision correction may needed before NearVisionCK treatment.

NearVision CK® (Conductive Keratoplasty) is a non-laser procedure developed specifically for baby boomers who have had clear vision all their life, but now struggle to see life's details with reading glasses. NearVision CK® is a safe, minimally invasive procedure that involves no cutting of your cornea. And it's performed using the ViewPoint® CK® System, the only FDA-approved technology for the temporary improvement of near vision. This makes it an ideal procedure for people over 45, for whom safety is often the most important factor in their decision to undergo a vision correction procedure.

Using radiofrequency (RF) energy, NearVision CK® can change how the eye focuses light by reshaping the cornea to make it steeper. After the doctor has applied a topical anesthetic (eye drops), controlled RF energy is applied in a circular pattern to shrink the corneal tissue. This pattern is applied in the periphery of your cornea and therefore minimizes interference with your line of sight (i.e., pupil). A device called a "speculum" holds your eye open during the procedure.
NearVisionCK create muti-focal lens on your eyes to make a “ Blend Vision” to see near while keeping your distance vision as well.

NearVision CK is for those who:

is at least 45 of age.
is able to see without contact lens or glasses and has no luck or narrow vision, have not had a significant change in their vision for one year.
have no health issues affecting their eyes.
 are not pregnant or nursing.
have difficulty with close vision and use reading glasses only to see near.
want to reduce or eliminate their dependence on glasses, reading glasses or contacts.
Cornea thickness less than 570μm at center and more than 560μm at 6mm radius from its center.
Cornea Curvature Radius is between 41.0D to 45.0D.
Understand the presbyopia will progress with aging and will need additional treatments sometimes in the future.
If you are all of the above, you will be a good NearVisionCK Candidate. NearVision CK is applied radiofrequency (RF) energy on your non-dominant eye to create “Blend Vision”= to accommodate both distant and near vision.

Conductive Keratoplasty is a relatively new procedure that uses radio waves to shrink collagen tissue within the cornea to treat low to moderate presbyopia and bring near vision back in focus.

Using a small probe, thinner than a strand of human hair, a controlled release of radio waves are applied in a circular pattern on the outer cornea to shrink small areas of collagen. This creates a restrictive band, like the tightening of a belt, that increases the curvature of the cornea.

It will take approximately 3 minutes. A topical anesthetic (eye drops) will be applied before treatment; you won’t feel pain during the procedures.

After radiofrequency is applied, the center of your cornea will remain untouched but the curvature of the cornea will be steeper.

A topical anesthetic (eye drops) will be applied.
Marking the center of your eye.
8〜16 spots of Radio Wave are applied as marked radius.

A controlled release of radio waves are applied in a circular pattern on the outer cornea to shrink small areas of collagen.
Complete with eye drops. It takes about 3 minutes.
