1. Make Appointment.

2. Eye Examinations for Eligibility and Consultation.
You will have those following examinations for whether NearVisionCK treatment would be suitable and benefit your aging eyes (Pesbyopia). Then, our expert counselor will discuss the treatment with you and your doctor based on your individual eye conditions and your own data from examinations in details. Our experienced doctors will answer all the question you may have regarding your treatment plan. Once you are determined to be a good candidate for NearVisonCK treatment, your surgery date will be scheduled with you and the counsellor.

※in order to get a better view of the internal structures of the eye,a special kind of eye drop will be applied to dilate your eyes; While the dilating drops are working, you will be sensitive to light (because more light is getting into your eye) and may notice difficulty focusing on objects up close. These effects can last for up to 3~4 hours.

※We suggest not to drive the Vehicles on the day of our eye exam.

※Wearing contact lenses may cause some deformation on the surface of your cornea; We would like to ask you to take off your contact lenses before you take the eye exam. In order to take the best, precise data of your eyes, it is necessary for you to wear your glasses instead for a while before these eye examinations.
If you are wearing hard contact lenses, please stop wearing these contact lenses 2 weeks before your scheduled eye examination date. For those who use soft contact lenses with astigmatism, please stop using them 2 weeks before as well. The regular soft contact lens users will need to take them off 1 week prior to the exam. During these week (s), please wear your glasses, then come to the clinic for your eligibility eye exams.


■ Eligibility Eye Examinations

[ Cornea Formation Check ]
To check if you have any deformation affected by wearing contact lenses, whether you have keratoconus or other abnormality in cornea.

[ Auto-refractor Exam ]
By using an Auto-refractor, your refractive ability of your eyes would be measured. The data will indicate the degree of your nearsightedness, or farsightedness and with or without astigmatism.

[ Ocular Tension Exam ]
Using the device called “Non-contact Tonometer”, the tension of your eyes will be examined. You will feel a slight wind blow on the surface of your eyes.

[ Corneal Endothelium Cell Counts ]
By the device called “Specular-Microscope”, your corneal endothelium cell will be photographed and examined the cell counts, its width and shapes.

[ Cornea Thickness Measurement ]
A pachymeter is a device that uses ultrasound to determine the thickness of the cornea in any given location. Pachymetry is an essential measurement prior to certain refractive surgical procedures, such as LASIK and NearVisonCK.

[ Vision Test ]
Using the standard eye-chart, your vision with and without corrective lenses will be measured. Covering one eye at a time, you will be asked to read or state how you see those letters or objects in distance.

[ Pupil Diameter Measurement ]
To examine your pupil size under dim light.

[ Slit-Lamp Examination ]
The slit lamp is an instrument that the eye doctor uses to examine the health of your eyes. The slit lamp, also called a biomicroscope, allows the doctor to get a highly magnified image of the structures of the eye in order to thoroughly evaluate them for signs of infection or disease. Your doctor will first examine the structures of the front of the eye (lids, cornea, conjunctiva, iris etc.). Then, with the help of a special high-powered lens, he or she will view the inside of the eye (retina, optic nerve, macula and more). whole range of eye conditions and diseases can be detected with slit-lamp examination, including cataracts, macular degeneration, corneal ulcers diabetic eye disease, etc.

[ Retina Check by Dilation ]
A dilating eye drop will be applied to examine your inside of your eye and check the condition of your retina, optic nerve and Aqueous Humor.

[ Loose Lens Test ]
There will be 5 levels of the targeted vision: This test is to simulate and determine your target vision after NearVisionCK treatment. Based on the level of your focus conditions and comfort zone, doctor will determine the suitable surgery plan for you.


3. The day of your NearVisionCK surgery.
Since anesthetic eye drop will be applied, you will not feel pain during the procedure. After the surgery, an protective contact lens will be placed by your doctor. Right after the surgery, you may feel sensitive to light and/or have watery eyes. We suggest you to rest in our recovery room or sitting room of our clinic for a while, then you can go home. You do not have to wear eye-patch, however, the protective contact lens your doctor provided should be kept on for 1 day after the surgery.

※Please let your eyes to rest fully after the surgery. We suggest you to go to bed earlier and not to watch TV or to read books till late at night.

※Please do not wear any make-up on the surgery day.

※When you take a bath on the night of the surgery and the next day morning, please take precaution not to wet above of your neck.

※Please abstain from light sporting activities such as jogging for about 1 week. For swimming or any other sports or activity may have possibility to receive impact on your eyes, we suggest you to wait about 1 month after the surgery.


4. Post-Operative Check Ups.
Please return to the clinic for the post-operative check up the following day.It is very important for you to be examined by doctor on whether you have any sign of infections. At the same time, the treatment effect and recovery of your near vision will be evaluated..We suggest you to make a hotel accommodation if you come from out of town:Our clinic staff would be happy to help inform hotels near by.

It may take about 1 week to diminish the conditions such as watery eyes, or dryness, feeling a foreign body in your treated eye, and your vision to bestabilized. The incongruity you may feel between right and left eyes should besettled about a month.

You can do any usual daily activities as you like, however, do not over loadsto use your eyes 1 week after your surgery.

After the next day check up, you will have another post-operative check up in2 weeks, 3 months and 6 months.

It is very important to keep these scheduled check-ups up to 6 months foryourself because the procedures and the treatment effect may vary and the progress of presbyopia depends on the individual.
