I decided to have the LASIK because I needed a new prescription of eye glasses and they are expensive for me. It wasn't much more expensive than an eye exam and prescription glasses and sun glasses.

I decided to use Kobe Clinic becasue of the recommendations of people I know who had it done there. Also, having an english speaker on staff the whole time made me much more comfortable.

I was very nervous as I walked into the clinic the day of the surgery, but the friendly attitude of all the employees, and the help of Tatiana made me very comfortable. It was painless and a very easy procedure.

After wearing glasses and contacts for twenty years, I finally decided to take the big step and have the surgery for several reasons. One reason for taking this step was because I love playing tennis and I found wearing glasses or contacts to play would often hinder my performance. Another reason was it will make traveling easier. I enjoy going anywhere where it is sunny and I always had difficulty enjoying water activities for fear I would lose a contact. Now I have more room in my luggage for souvenirs and snorkeling gear!

I decided to have LASIK done at Kobe Clinic because after several emails I felt very comfortable with the staff and the support they would give me before and after the surgery. Even more so after the consultation visit. I was very pleased and impressed with how friendly and supportive everyone was. And because I can't speak Japanese, having someone there to translate what every test was for set my mind at ease.

I arrived at the clinic with a mix of excitement and nervousness. I was greeted right away by the friendly staff. I unfortunately had to wait an hour for my surgery due to the number of surgeries that were being done that day; they were running behind. But I thought good things come to those who wait. When it was my time for surgery, I was taken into two different rooms for preparation and next thing I knew I was lying on the chair looking at a blinking orange light. It all happened so quickly and painlessly. I walked out of the room already seeing better but with some blurriness. I was amazed at the difference. That evening I felt some discomfort as if there was sand in my eyes. The next day I woke up and I could SEE the alarm clock!

For the past few years I have had to resort to wearing glasses after struggling to use contact lenses for an extended period of time. As someone who likes the outdoors and adventure sports (hiking, snowboarding, scuba diving, etc), glasses are fairly inconvenient. Some friends of mine underwent LASIK surgery in the past few years, and both were very happy with their results, so I decided that I too should see if I could qualify for LASIK surgery.

As a Westerner living and working in Japan, I was looking for a fast and efficient English-speaking clinic with a good track record (including previous surgeries on "Western" eyes!), at a reasonable price. Kobe Clinic fitted the bill perfectly. After an initial consultation at the clinic, supplemented by some further research into LASIK surgery, I felt comfortable in going ahead with the procedure.

I had the operation on a Saturday evening. Although there was a slight delay, English-speaking staff were on hand throughout to take me through the surgical procedure. I was more excited than nervous, and the operation went very smoothly and successfully. The surgeon and support staff were very professional at all times, and five minutes later my vision had been improved! My eyes were a little painful once the anaesthetic wore off that evening, but the discomfort had subsided by the following morning and I was back at work on Monday!

As my myopia was quite strong I was not able to do anything without either glasses or contact lenses. Despite the fact that I have been using contact lenses for 15 years without serious problems, I still found it inconvenient to always put them in and out, carry around the cleaning liquids on trips and also being helpless in case I lost one.

Kobe Clinic is a reputable LASIK clinic with English speaking assistance and consulting. The doctors and staff were professional at all times and especially the personal care-taking for me as a foreigner was outstanding. Also the costs of LASIK are a lot less than what they are in my home country while the same equipment is used by equally professional doctors and staff.

Although I had been told exactly how the procedure is done I was still extremely nervous on the day of the surgery. Looking back there is really no need to be afraid: the surgery takes only a few minutes and is not painful at all. After the surgery I could see the difference immediately ? my vision was slightly blurry but I could see without glasses. The same evening I went out with friends for dinner and was already excited about the change. The next morning was even more amazing when the blurriness was gone and my vision was almost perfect at the 1-day-after check at Kobe clinic. A week later I went for my 1-week appointment and had perfect vision on both eyes ? I went skiing that same weekend with no problems at all.

I am still excited about my new vision and enjoy it very much! The everyday hassle with contact lenses is over and it is really amazing to be able to see waking up in the morning.

I decided to have LASIK because I hated wearing glasses and contacts. I usually wear contacts, but it becomes very troublesome when travelling and tends to dry out after wearing them for long hours. My vision is incredibly bad and I cant function daily without contacts or glasses.

I chose Kobe Clinic because my friend JC Fang recommended it to me and the price is very reasonable.

On the day of the surgery, I wasn't nervous at all. But when I entered the surgery room, I became very nervous. The staff was very friendly and helped me through the entire surgery process. There was no pain at all.

It is very refreshing to be able to wake up in the morning and not have to put contacts or glasses on. I don't need to constantly be worrying about my contacts drying out or the length of time I had been wearing them. It is also easier to travel. It was always so much trouble putting my contacts in on the plane or in the public washrooms. I highly recommend LASIK to anyone that can't live without glasses or contacts it.
